Financial Summary |
The Financial Summary Report screen is divided into two sections; System Parameters and User
Parameters. In the System Parameters section, the user must specify
details for the format of the report; in the User Parameters section, the user must
specify details pertaining to the content of the report. For general information on

The Financial Summary Report is generated based on a user specified Accounting Period, and range of Offices and Departments. The report can be produced in two different formats; sorted by Responsible Professional, or sorted by Nature of Practice. If the user selects the Responsible Professional option, they must then specify the status and range of Professionals to be included in the report (i.e. only information regarding Matters associated with Professionals of the specified type and within the specified range will be displayed). If the user selects the Nature of Practice option, they must then define the range of the Natures to be included in the report (i.e. only information regarding Matters associated with Natures within the specified range will be displayed). For either formatting option, the report displays the following for each Matter: Total Unbilled Hours, Fees, and Disbursements; AR Fees, Disbursements, Tax, and Total AR; Regular and Special Trust Amounts; and Total Trust per Professional or Nature. Totals are displayed for each column per Office and Department, and per Professional or Nature of Practice. Report information is lifetime to date (up to and including the user specified Accounting Period). When the report is generated for the entire range of Professionals or Natures, the report totals should balance to the appropriate General Ledger Accounts.

Office From the list provided, the user must select the name of the Office for which the report will be produced. The names of all Offices associated with your Firm will be displayed in the list. To include all Offices in the report, the user must select the Select All option. The user also has the option to manually enter the unique identifier of the Office. This field defaults to the Select All option (i.e. by default, all Offices will be included in the report).
Department Accounting Month, Accounting Year The user must specify the Accounting Month and Year for which the report will be generated. The Accounting Month can either be selected from the list provided or manually entered; the Accounting Year must be manually entered by the user. These fields default to the current Accounting Month and Year. Include Closed Matters Report By From the list provided, the user must select the format for the report (i.e. the way in which report information will be organized). Valid options are by Responsible Professional and by Nature. The user also has the option to manually enter their Report By choice. If the user selects the Responsible Professional option, they must continue to the Responsible Professional section of the screen; if the user selects the Nature option, they must continue to the Nature section of the screen. This field defaults to the Responsible Professional option. Sort By From the list provided, the user must select the way in which the report information will be sorted. Valid options are by Office and by Timekeeper. The user also has the option to manually enter their Sort By choice. This field defaults to the Office option. Responsible Professional X to X Professional Status The user can narrow the range of Professionals to only those of a certain status. From the list provided, the user must select the status of Professionals who are to be included in the report. Valid options are All Professionals, Active Professionals, and Inactive Professionals. This field defaults to the All Professionals option. Nature - Start Nature X to X From the lists provided, the user must define the range of Natures of Practice for which the report will be produced. The user also has the option to manually enter the unique identifiers of the Natures. These fields default to the first and last Natures in the lists. |
